Carmen is a police officer and a pilot. She lives in Switzerland and shares some of the most breathtaking videos and pictures of the mountains from a birds eye view. Being a police officer is not easy. It takes physical, mental and emotional strength and training. It also takes hard work and much study to become a pilot. We applaud Carmen for the fine example of courage and strength she sets for young women everywhere. Follow her on Instagram to get inspired today!  @helicopterpilot_carmen

In Her Own Words

My name is Carmen and I have been flying for 5 years in helicopters. But I will tell you my story from the beginning.

My first education was as a professional dancer. After three years in the school for movement pedagogy it bored me and I transferred the money to Swiss banks. But I needed a change again and I went to the police. I was 15 years as a police officer and for a short time in the special forces.

It has always been my dream to be able to fly a helicopter and one day the dream came true. I was invited to do a trial flight on the EC30 and it was all over me immediately. I then completed my PPL (H) license on the Robinson R44.

Shortly after the PPL training I did the type rating on the EC20 an din the meantime I am working on the MOU training. My next big challenge: I started with the CPL (H) and my goal is to work as a police pilot in Switzerland. But, there is still a long way to go. Last December I started my type rating on the B3
