Noise Blocking Technology Options
Choose between the following options for how the headset blocks noise. Select from the dropdown menu to have ‘Passive Attenuation’, ‘Passive + Active’, ‘Passive + Active + Bluetooth’, or Passive + CEP Ear buds’.
Passive Attenuation
Passive attenuation means the noise that is mechanically blocked by the ear cup itself. Dalcomm headsets have been tested by an independent laboratory and are certified to 23dB of noise blocking.
This model includes the feature of an interchangeable cable for multiple use cases, GA, Helicopter, USB training, simulation, video conferencing and more. Additional adapter cables sold separately.
Passive + Active
Active noise cancelling adds a layer of electronic noise cancelling on top of the noise that that ear cup already blocks. The electronics use a microphone to observe the ambient noise, invert the sound wave and then reintroduce it to the ear cup so that the sounds cancel each other. All that’s left is the sounds that you want like ATC, intercom and music.
Passive + Active + Bluetooth
This option includes both the mechanical or ‘Passive’ noise blocking as well as the ‘Active’ or electronic noise cancelling and then adds to that Bluetooth capability. Add to your ultra quiet experience with Bluetooth connection to a phone or tablet. This option allows you to connect wirelessly via Bluetooth to an external device.
Passive + CEP Ear Plugs
This option has two forms of hearing protection. There’s a set of military grade communications ear plugs (rated at 29dB attenuation) as well as the standard noise blocking ear cups (rated at 23dB attenuation). CEP stands for Communications Ear Plugs made by CEP USA. This option more than doubles the noise blocked by the headset while still providing the sound you want from whatever you’re connected to i.e. ATC, radio, smartphone or tablet.  This headset is designed for jet engine testing, helicopter landing pads. This headset will protect your hearing in the more extreme noise environments.
The ear plugs connect to the headset. Put the headset around your neck, put the ear plugs into your ears then put the headset on.
